The Brake Room Encourages Customers To Be A Part Of The Biking Community By Using Data-Driven Marketing To Send Meaningful Messages

GOLDEN, COLO., June 16, 2021 – Ascent360 announced today that The Brake Room, a bicycle service and coffee shop hybrid based in Belleville, Canada, is now using the Ascent360 data-driven marketing platform to make a meaningful and lasting impact on their customer base. The Brake Room aims to use Ascent360 to bring together a strong biking community and culture by sending personalized messages
and promoting community events.

Operations Managers Adam and Laura opened their doors to The Brake Room five years ago in the hopes of creating a low barrier for people to get involved in the bike community. Adam worked many years both in bike retail and coffee shops and wanted to bring the same welcoming environment of a café to the biking industry. The team accomplishes this by offering coffee at their location for only $3,
among a wide range of other café menu items.

Sales at The Brake Room have been excellent over the past two years, but Adam and Laura are anxious to focus on bringing people together again post-COVID and hosting more community events, such as coffee outside rides, Friday community tables with chefs, and Sunday brunch. “The biking industry can sometimes be a hard environment to get involved in,” Adam said. “We want to encourage people to
jump in and learn to ride or inspire someone who hasn’t ridden since their youth to get back on the bike. We want to show them that biking is a fun, welcoming community.”

By relying on Ascent360, The Brake Room can use their Lightspeed point-of-sale data to do just that. The Ascent360 platform ingests their transactional data and allows them to segment customers based on different identifying factors, such as location, purchase behavior, or how they’ve interacted with the brand in the past. “We are a small but powerful team here at The Brake Room and we want to have as much impact as possible,” Laura said. “We are wasting valuable time and marketing dollars if we aren’t sending the right messages at the right time. We chose Ascent360 so we could target our customers with a message that is meaningful to them.”

Scott Buelter, CEO at Ascent360, added that the Ascent360 platform is valuable for companies like The Brake Room because it is a powerful relationship building tool. “In the retail industry, it’s not just about selling something to your customers. Having the ability to send personalized, targeted messages that let customers know what is going on in the store and in the community provides value to them and makes them feel like they are part of the cycling family.”
